Nabesna Road Campgrounds

Jack Creek Rest Area offers several nice rustic campsites with picnic tables and fishing along Jack Creek. Keep your eyes open for Alaska's Dall sheep often seen in this area. These bright white, wild sheep inhabit high altitude ridges, meadows, and extremely rugged terrain. Dall sheep use the sunny slopes of the hills for feeding, resting, and to escape predators. While Dall sheep typically inhabit the higher elevations, in this area they are known to frequent the springs and mineral licks. Watch closely and you might see the small flocks on the mountainsides as you continue over the next few miles of Nabesna Road.
