Anchorage Tours & Activities for Visitors

Anchorage Tours & Activities for Visitors. From Anchorage one can venture out and see the sights of the town or take a drive to the top of Flattop Mountain where the views will simply take your breath away. Drive down Turnagain arm to witness a bore tide or watch the beluga whales as they follow the hooligan and salmon headed to the rivers of Turnagain Arm. While there motor down to Portage and visit the Wildlife Sanctuary, (Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center), or drive the tunnel to Whittier. Portage Glacier tours are available on the lake and the Portage Glacier Visitors Center, (Begich-Boggs Visitors Center), is well worth a visit too.

Anchorage residents have a saying, "Anchorage is only 10 minutes from Alaska!" This is so very true as a 10 minute hop in one of the Alaska Air Taxi's located on Lake Hood will have you totally at awe from the sudden change from urban life to wild wilderness where the animals you see are no longer in a zoo.
