Camping Alaska Highway
Few places on earth offer as many unique camping opportunities as the Alaska Highway does. There are plenty of full service rv parks, private and provincial campgrounds, a scattering of rest areas, lakeside pull-offs and even Walmart parking lots for you to choose from.
As long as there is adequate room and no posted signs prohibiting camping, pulling over along the highway for a rest or for the night is pretty common especially in areas where the distances between towns is greater than normal.
Safety is always a concern along these remote highways and when you're tired it is expected of you to stop and get some adequate rest before proceeding. Encounters with wildlife greatly increase after evening too so this must be considered whenever you are pushing the limits on safe and sane driving.
